in light of the hurricane

My most recent project is to furnish a 3 bedroom farm house on a "dime". I love a good challenge but I was worried this would be more of a struggle, even for a bargain shopper like me.

Lighting is key to any space and usually highly under rated. A low, subtle, glow can create a warm and cozy atmosphere, ideal for a farm house. Love it or leave it, pot lights aren't for me.

I hand picked a selection of vintage hurricane lamps at a lighting sale. I know they don't look like much now but with a little vision and determination, I think they'll be perfect.

The pastel glass shades remind me of prom dresses from the 50's or of petit fours from Marks & Sparks. Too sweet to eat!

After several days of spray painting and rewiring, I am thrilled with my new lamps. Clean, fresh and whimsical. When turned on they give a beautiful warm glow. I just love them!
